Leif

1924 was an especially sad year in the Williams/Ruelokke family as that as when we lost "Poor Tor" and her little girl Linda. The "Leif" sailed out of Grand Bank in the fall of 1923 with a load of fish for Oporto, Portugal intending to go from there to Denmark. The captain's daughter-in-law, Victoria (Williams) Ruelokke, and her three year old daughter Linda went as passengers. The Lief was rammed and sank on January 8, 1924. The captain's son Charles Ruelokke, and his oldest daughter Bertha, remained in Grand Bank. Bertha Ruelokke lost her Grandfather, Mother and little sister just 10 days shy of her 5th Birthday.
